Screening ultrasound of the abdominal aorta to check for an aneurysm (bulge).
$150.00
An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) ultrasound measures the size of the aorta, the main artery in the abdomen, to look for an abnormal bulge. Screening is commonly recommended for men aged 65 to 75 who have ever smoked, and your doctor may recommend it for others based on risk factors.
Please do not eat or drink for about 8 hours before the exam, as gas in the bowel can block the view. The exam usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes.
This exam is performed by an ARDMS-registered sonographer at our Beverly Hills office, and is also available through our EZ Diagnostic mobile ultrasound service at your home, clinic or care facility. Images are interpreted by a board-certified physician, and results are sent to your referring healthcare provider. Please bring your physician’s order and a photo ID to your appointment. Questions?
