A complete abdominal ultrasound evaluates the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal aorta. Doctors order it for abdominal pain, abnormal liver or kidney tests, gallstones and many other concerns.
Please do not eat or drink for 6 to 8 hours before the exam. Small sips of water with medications are usually fine. The exam usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
This exam is performed by an ARDMS-registered sonographer at our Beverly Hills office, and is also available through our EZ Diagnostic mobile ultrasound service at your home, clinic or care facility.
