FDA-approved automated whole-breast ultrasound for women with dense breasts, used alongside your mammogram.
Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) uses sound waves to capture standardized 3D images of the entire breast. It is designed as a supplemental screening exam for women with dense breast tissue, where a mammogram alone can be harder to read. There is no radiation and no compression.
A layer of lotion is applied and a wide scanner rests gently on the breast while the images are acquired. Most women find the exam comfortable. No special preparation is needed; wear a two-piece outfit and avoid lotion or powder on the chest that day.

This exam is performed at our Beverly Hills office at 50 N La Cienega Blvd, Suite 205. Images are interpreted by a board-certified physician, and results are sent to your referring healthcare provider. Please bring your physician’s order and a photo ID to your appointment. Questions?
